With the help of our sponsors, donors and friends, the Crystal Gala Foundation raises money to fight breast cancer and to make a difference in the lives of women and their families affected by breast cancer.  To date, we have raised more than $5.8 million dollars. To ensure transparency in how funds are allocated, we prioritize addressing community needs through our Fund a Need projects. These projects help fight breast cancer by purchasing advanced equipment, improved diagnostics, cutting-edge technology, and enhanced patient care.

THIS YEARS MISSION

This year, we’re thrilled to fund a groundbreaking advancement in the fight against breast cancer: raising funds to acquire a state-of-the-art Breast Cryoablation Unit for the Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre, the first of its kind in the region.

For breast cancer patients who are not candidates for surgery, traditional options like chemotherapy and radiation can control tumors in approximately 45–57% of cases. In contrast, breast cryoablation offers dramatically higher success rates between 94-100% through a minimally invasive freezing procedure.

This innovative, one-hour outpatient treatment provides a powerful alternative, potentially improving outcomes, preserving quality of life, and giving renewed hope to those with limited options. Every dollar raised through the Crystal Gala Foundation will go directly toward this life-saving initiative, helping bring this cutting-edge technology to our community and making a real difference in patients’ lives.
