2021

To assist with an increase in demand an Ultrasound ($130,000) was purchased to perform scans more efficiently.

$100,000 was committed to support the Breast Optical Probe Study at BC Cancer Foundation.

2020

To preserve a biopsy in preparation for examination, three Tissue Processors were purchased for $184,000.  The processors allow for high-quality results and same-day diagnosis to reduce patient anxiety levels and to allow treatment to start sooner for best possible results.

2019

The purchase of $60,000.00 Neoprobe, which is used to stage cancer in breast cancer patients and is used exclusively for breast cancer surgeries.

2018

A $26,000.00 donation provided a PACs station for ARHCC.  In that same year, $362,500.00 (half of the total commitment) went towards the purchase of a new digital mammography machine and a refresh of the space.  As a result, the Foundation received the naming rights to Diagnostic Mammography Unit at ARHCC.

2017

A picture archiving and communication system and PACS station for breast imaging was possible through a $50,000 donation to the Langley Memorial Hospital.

2015

In partnership with JLIF, a commitment of $500,000 was provided for medical equipment and furnishings to ensure the Abbotsford Breast Health Centre’s staff have optimal space and access to technology while providing the best treatment and comforting experience for patients in their new location.  The Centre is located on the Atrium Level of the hospital.

2013

$130,000.00 was donated to purchase an ultra-sound machine for the ARHCC Crystal Gala Breast Health Unit Screening Mammography and Ultrasound.

2010

$500,000 was donated to acquire the naming rights to the Crystal Gala Breast Health Unit Screening Mammography.  The Unit is located on the 2nd floor of the hospital.

2007

A Lead Gift of $500,000 was committed to the Campaign for Healthcare Excellence in support of the Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre. Donations are administered through the Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation.

2002 – 2004

To ensure our funding remained local and in anticipation of the new regional hospital being built in Abbotsford, the Crystal Gala became a Foundation.

1999 – 2004

Funds were donated to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation – Fraser Valley, BC/Yukon chapter.

Donations were also used to fund specific equipment purchases at Langley, Abbotsford, Chilliwack and Mission hospitals.

In the first five years, early detection equipment (transducer probes) was purchased for three local hospitals in addition to comfort supplies and breast cancer awareness material for our community.

1999

The Crystal Gala was founded in 1999 by Tammy Preast and Gerri Charles.
